Area Agency on Aging Department of Central Mississippi Planning & Development District, founded in 1973, provides a wide range of services to more than 78,000 senior citizens above 60-years of age. It serves Copiah, Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Simpson, Warren and Yazoo counties in Mississippi. Its community services include adult day care services, congregate meals, insurance counseling and assistance, long-term care alternatives program, emergency services, prescription drug information, and elder abuse prevention educational program. Its services also include disease prevention and health promotion programs, homemaker and respite services, home delivered meals, home and community based services, and advocacy and outreach services. Area Agency on Aging is located in Jackson, Miss.
