Capital City Alternative School, established in 1993, is a program that serves students who have been suspended and expelled from Jackson Public Schools for 10 days and longer in grades 4 through 12. The school works to improve students' academic performance. It also offers individual and group counseling services. Capital City Alternative School s campus features a library and cafeteria. In addition, the school provides character education through the CCAS Outreach Program. It organizes parent-teacher conferences and science fairs, as well as administers parenting sessions and mentoring programs.
