Provided by YP.comFrom the free/cheap transfers so you can select from even MORE than the TONS of cars on their lot, to the low pressure sales model, to the very fair purchase prices offered on our two vehicles, to the super friendly, helpful and accommodating service staff, I can't say a single negative word about the Carmax location on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville. They sold me a GREAT Jeep at a fair rice, no haggling or pressure whatsoever, then when I had a minor issue with the navigation function on my stereo, they easy peasy ordered a whole new unit, even though the Jeep is out of warranty by just a few months. I was fully prepared to be told that it wasn't covered under the 30-day limited warranty that comes with every car at no extra cost, but without so much as a bat of an eye, they handled it amazingly, and I couldn't be HAPPIER!
I can safely say that we tested every area of the CarMax business model...having our cars appraised with no intent to trade: they offered us at least as much, if not a bit more than we expected after researching Kelley Blue Book values; transferring the Jeep I finally decided to try, and getting it here in about half the time they said it would take; meeting my sales consultant Barry Vonderau in person and finding him to be a relaxed, easy-going guy with no intention of pressuring me to buy, no follow-up calls to hassle me into hurrying my decision, no typical sales tactics whatsoever, just friendly, helpful and NICE! The 30-day warranty works like they promise, and the service staff (Hal in particular) is very, very friendly and easy to deal with, no frustration or pressure or weasling whatsoever...just upfront openness to address the issue and provide a solution, one that I was VERY pleased with and not at all expecting.
I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, like this place can't possibly REALLY be this good...but this may be the ONE TIME that if something seems too good to be true, it really might just BE *that* good!

Provided by YP.comPurchased a 2014 Subaru Forrester not even two months ago from Carmax, and immediately had issues with it idling badly and electrical issues. Brought it to this dealership and Jason was kind enough to provide a loaner, but our car instead had to be taken to the local Subaru dealership (because Carmax wasn't equipped to deal with the problem), where it sat for almost two weeks before we got it back. Upon picking it up, two days later three lights came on. I made an appointment to bring it out there and before I brought it in, they went out, which would have kept them from being able to diagnose it. I was told that if it happened again they'd certainly stand behind it.
This morning, they came on and I couldn't take the car out of Park without turning the car off/on 4 times. I called this morning and was told that now we'll have to pay a $115 diagnostic fee plus the cost of the repair. We haven't even made our second payment on it yet, but according to Carmax, that's not their problem.

Provided by YP.comBought a car and the warranty. At first they did well, but now we have the car making a loud whistling noise and they had the car for 6 months. They took it to Chrysler and did work themselves and in the end, they gave us back the car and said " we can't fix it,, good bye and good luck" I even called the corp office to complain and never got a call back, go figure.I would never buy a car from them again and warn all my friends to do the same.

Provided by YP.comI heard a few bad and a few good things about CarMax but I can tell you after car shopping at other dealerships I had the best experience. I came in, sat with a great guy, we talked everything thru, he entered my info & was able to tell me right away what I was approved for. There isn't a back & forth, no haggling, he never left to "get a managers approval". There were no secrets, everything was right there on the table. Right on the showroom floor I saw my car, a bright red 2013 Chev Impala. Perfectly clean, low miles & minor things wrong. I was so comfortable with everything I didn't realize until I was leaving that I didn't even test drive it!! That's just how they made me feel when I was dealing with them, I felt like I could trust them. After the HORRIBLE experience I had at other dealerships I will always come back here in the future. Please keep up the great work & thank you so much!! I'm loving my new baby!

Do not buy a any type of car from this place...Bought a van there and 1 week later I was driving it and it was smoking called them they sent someone then went and drove the van back to car max. Remind you it had not fluids in so they drove it hot from yulee fl to jax! I was strand with 2 small children! Will not work with me and will not take this lemon back. When I get home I post on my facebook about what happen and a person I met the day I bought my van there who also bough their car is having the same problem! They have to take theirs back as well...2 cars bought the same day and 2 cars going back almost on the same day due to the same problems! Would not buy anything from this place they do not do as they say they do will never and I mean NEVER buy from this place again and you shouldnt either! BEWARE BUYERS this place is a ripp off and are selling broke down junk things!
