Provided by YP.comVERY disappointed in the way this place runs their business. Took items in 11/14/12 for consignment and just found, after inquiring about a missing item many times, that the item was broke 11/18/12 and I am out the money. I understand they are not responsible for damage to items however someone should be responsible for informing the seller that it was broke (unknown how). They did say employees write the date it was damaged and their name on the back of the tag. They do not save a piece of the broken item. All that proves to me is that their employees can write. It was a highly expense piece and all they have to tell a seller is "we put our name on the back of it's tag" and NEVER tell you about it unless you inquire many times.... In addition, they said the date it was broken was 11/18/12. I was in there consigning and buying items 11/24/12 and it was there. SELLERS BEWARE- REQUEST THAT THEY SAVE PROOF OF YOUR BROKEN ITEM! Very suspicious seeing I asked about that item so many times and was told "it sold and will be on your next check".

Provided by YP.comI've decorated my whole house with furniture from Clearing House. I bought a leather sectional, a cherry dining room set, and several lamps and pictures. They carry mostly quality, traditional furniture. You can save a lot of money by shopping there.

Provided by YP.comI purchased a china cabinet in perfect condition from this store on Tuesday, when my husband arrived today to pick it up, it had been badly damaged while being stored in the back room. My husband was aghast, and asked for the owner who said that he had no idea how it had happened. He then tried to polish out the scratches which were down to the raw wood, and then changed his mind, saying that it must have been there when we purchased the piece! One of the salespeople came in to look at it and assured him that the piece did not have the damage on it when we purchased it on Tuesday. He argued with my husband, who was infuriated by this time, and then threatened to call the police! I went to the store to see the damage and was shocked. He again tried to convince me that I just didn't notice the damage and I should take it as it was. He continued to tell me that I just didn't notice it, while I continued to tell him that I was in the furniture business and would have noticed such an obvious damage, knowing how expensive it is to refinish real cherry furniture, I would never have bought it in this condition. It became obvious that he would continue to deny that the piece was damaged AFTER it was paid for, so I offered to take it for some money off. I asked for $100, he offered $40, It was ridiculous. He told me that this has happened before, and there was no point in my fighting it, the credit card company would not reimburse me the money. He knew because he has pulled this on customers before. I would never have shopped here had I known that the previous owners had sold to such an unscrupulous man. I just hope that others read my review before patronizing this dishonest store. I do not understand how the salespeople can continue to work for him knowing that he is so dishonest.
