My family have been to Matsu more than 6 years. I never have any credit card issue for over charge for eat in or to go. They make fresh food daily. My kids and I enjoy watching the performance while eating grilled food. A+++++++++++++++++ restarant on my list!

Matsu has the best and freshest sushi in Jax Beach. A++++++++++++++++++++++++ restaurant !!

I have been to many Japanese restaurants in Jacksonville. I want to vote that Matsu Japanese Steak house is the best for the food and service in Jax beach. The staffs are very friendly and treating everyone like a family. The sushi is so fresh. This is my favorite restaurant.

My wife & I went there one night after the movies & the service was great! Our waitress was wonderful along with the owner, George. Make sure to introduce yourself to him, he is very personable, not like other 'beach restaurants' who's owner's feel they're above meeting the customers. We WILL be back!

The food is so so, but beware, they like to overcharge your credit card. First time it happened, it was only a dollar or so over, like someone gave themselves an extra tip, Second time, it was over a hundred dollars over, with a $10 dollar order. Watch your bank statement after dining here.

The food was horrible and tasted like it was 3 days old. Over priced food, the service was slow and unprofessional and unfriendly. Horrible food (both sushi and grill), crappy environment (sushi bar, grill table, restroom...), the restroom no tissue, soap, snippy wait staff. Nothing Japanese about the place only the name. My girl friend nearly fainted when the tempura dish came complte with a dead spider in it, the manager would't even give us our money back. I've had a better meal at Publix. Matsu is a worst Japanese restaurant in Jacksonville area.

We took our daughter to Matsu Japanese Steakhouse for her 5th birthday and were completely pampered for about an hour and a half. While many of the foods were completely new to her, she was adventurous enough to try them after an extremely talented chef banged around some knives, made a smoking onion volocano, and generally kept her and my wife and I entertained for about an hour and a half.



The food was absolutely fantastic. Portions were just right if you like to take a bit home for a great snack later on. If you thirst, you will be quenched. Our waiter was always on the spot before our drinks even got more than a third low.



As mentioned, it was our daughter's birthday. For an little bit extra we got a fried cheesecake with a candle on top and our picture taken... but the best part was they sang to us to the beat of an antique looking gong!



The prices weren't too damaging. We made it there for the early bird specials and made out alright. Overall it was an exceptional dining experience. I'd recommend Matsu over many other places at the beach for a great time.
