This place was awful. I went with a craving for Italian food with two of my friends. We had never been there, so we had no idea that we would be GLARED at for wearing jeans. When we walked in, the host was incredibly unfriendly. He automatically assumed we didn't have a reservation, and then proceeded to take 10 minutes just to tell us we'd have an hour and a half wait. We decided to not go.



About twenty minutes later, we knew there was no other place we wanted to go for Italian since we had heard this place had delicious food. I called ahead this time, making a reservation for the soonest possible time available, and we had a 20 minute wait all of a sudden. It was nice to know that the host could've been lying to us based solely on our appearance.



When we actually dined, we discovered the food was not very good. The tortellini and ravioli tasted like it came out of a microwave, not fine dining at all. Our waitress also came to our table maybe twice. I had to force myself to eat the salad simply because I was hungry; it was awful.



And I'm not sure if this pertains to just the restaurant or the actual population of Jacksonville. There were girls attending the restaurant for their prom, and when I complimented them on how pretty they looked, they just stared at me like I was crazy. During our entire meal, a woman glared at us. And at another table of about 20 people, a teenaged girl accidentally knocked over a water glass, and neither the staff or the people she was with told her "it was okay." They just remained silent like they were angry with her.



Not a friendly restaurant; not a friendly city. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Loved the atmosphere-casual, yet elegant. Food was great-salad, rolls, and prime rib were excellent, all at reasonable price. Will definitely return.
