I currently live in an apartment on Cordell drive, that I rent through ABA. This is the first time I've gone through a rental agency and not through the owner. I haven't had any issues whatsoever with any of the staff. Christina, the receptionist and Terri, my property manager are amazing. I've been late with my rent a couple times, and they have been VERY understanding. Terri is amazing at her job. Any time I've had an issue it was taken care of in a timely manner. I've had notes left on my door telling me to take care of this and that. The notes could've been rude, I left a mess I shouldn't have, but they weren't. You take care of their greviences in a respectful manner, and they take care of yours. It's a get what you give kind of world, y'all. I wish people would take into consideration that if YOU are nice and respectful, you get the same in return. Don't call them being rude and demanding and expect them to take your crap and just do what you say. I'd recommend them 100%!

Absolutely horrible. DO NOT RENT WITH ABA. My husband and I are considering leaving due to maintenance issues with our sewer lines that have resulted in sewage backing up into house, water seeping up thru carpets. Now mold is growing on walls, under carpet and on furniture. ABA treats it like it's a non-issue and still charging us full rent. Told us that we just have to wipe the mold down with a cloth. Sewer company confirms that this has been an issue going on for years and that landlord/property manager have been well aware of it since the beginning. Its a clear violation of

NC State Statute (42)... I wish I had read reviews before moving in. AGAIN, DO NOT RENT WITH ABA.

Horrible place. They only want your money. There's cockroaches, slugs, lizards everywhere. Don't waste your money or time here. You'll regret it. Don't even bother trying to clean up before you move out because they will STILL charge you the cleanup fee. Weeks before I moved out, someone tried breaking in my apartment and ABA said they couldn't show me the surveillance video, not even with the police report. That means that no matter how many cameras you see, you are as unsafe as in a guetto neighborhood. They don't care about you or your family's security. PLEASE DON'T RENT WITH THEM! The walls and everything is so old, including the appliances, there's cracks between the walls and the outdoors where slugs and other bugs will slip through. Just go ahead and spend more money somewhere that is so much more worth it!

I seriously hated living in a house that was from ABA rental, I finally moved and now I cant wait to write the review, the house smelled disgusting, it had rats and they took forever to fix it, the house was full of dead bugs when we opened the door , and when you give your 30 days notice to move out they show up without telling you and you have to let strangers look at your STILL home and if you dont open they open! I seriously wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! seriously follow my advice

The people who work there are ...

The people who work there are plain stupid! I asked a million questions about being able to see a rental, and all the details I'd want to get out ahead of time, so once I saw the property and liked it, I was just going to pay 6 months rent plus the deposit all in one and move in the same day. They FAILED to tell me I was going to have to do an hour long telephone interview just to SEE the friggin' property! Then, I explain to them I'm currently married but my husband and I are separating. They then tell me they won't rent to me basically without my husbands permission! Ha! what a joke! i guess they never realize some women leave to get out of bad situations or dangerous ones! Idiots!

ABA rentals have disappointed ...

ABA rentals have disappointed me in many ways from their poor customer service to their unethical way of running their business. They say they are military friendly, which is far from the truth. My husband and I are both in the military; when he got his orders to deploy and I was going to be TAD for several weeks, ABA rentals did not take the orders because my husband's name wasn't on them. However, there was a contact number to verify that he indeed was deploying. They had the indecency to tell me "how do we know you did not write those orders? Anybody can do that!"

Are you serious? Did they think that I was going to put my career on line to break off a month rent? I tried to reason with the manager and she said that we weren't her problem and hung up the phone on me. I called again to talk to her manager but I only got an apology that they probably did not mean what they had said. They still did not take my husband's orders. We gave up dealing with them because we realized that ABA Rentals only cares about their business and not the customers. They are not military friendly! They are rude, unprofessional and very crass in their business dealings.

A few weeks later I get an statement with all the deductions from the security deposit and everything looked right until I saw a deduction from a water bill. They tried to tell me that I owed them for the water. ABA rental insisted that I owed the water bill because I turned it off before the schedule date. I called the water company and they told me that ABA had called to switch the water under ABA rental a few days before my scheduled day. ABA Rental was trying to charge me for their water connection fee that everyone is responsible when you connect your water. I was 100% sure that I disconnected the water on the scheduled day. I just wonder how many people do not check stuff like this and have been cheated by this rental company??? ABA rentals the most unethical and unprofessional company I have ever experienced! Do not do business with them!

we just moved out of a house w...

we just moved out of a house we rented on 600 maple st. ABA rentals has by far been one of the worse places we have ever rented from. the house has no grounders in the plugs so all of the appliances now a days wont work with out going and buying the adapters. i asked if they could change the plugs so we could have grounders and they told me it would be too big of a job and that i should just go buy the adapters. we had to call 3 times to get our dishwasher replaced which we couldn't use for the first 6 months we lived there. we had a bad cockroach problem when we first moved in. they had nested under the back deck. aba told us that anything inside the house was our problem and i told them that they were coming from outside under the decks and they told us that if we took care of the inside that they wouldn't come in. >_< but the worse thing about our whole time with them has been our deposit... you can forget about it when you move out. there was a hole in our bathroom behind the toilet that was there before we moved that was covered with black tape. we didn't initially see it till after we did our check in sheet. so i told our prop manager EVERY time we had a walk through that it was there and we didn't do it. she never noted it. and told us that she lost our check in sheet. so 12 months later when we moved out. we got charged 300$.... half our deposit, to fix a hole behind the toilet . when i called they miraculously found our check in sheet that was missing for 12 months, and said the hole wasn't documented so they had to charge us. she even said she checked the check out sheet of the previous tenant and there was nothing documented. but it was there when we moved it. they are so unorganized and i had about 3 different prop managers in the 12 months of living there. my recommendation if you do rent from aba rentals. write down ever detail, keep your copy, make copies. when you move out the house needs to be in perfect shape. we left it better than when we moved in and out of a 795.00$ deposit we got back 219.00$. that's it. and we cleaned it our self which they said it looked great. they will get you for dumb stuff. 120$ to rake the back yard. that's it just to rake it. everyone i know that rents from them has problems. iam not just writing this because i am mad. everything on everyone's reviews are the truth.

DO NOT, DO NOT go through this...

DO NOT, DO NOT go through this company. During my stay at a rental home, I had a stench that would not go away which ended up being a dead mouse in the pipes. It literally took them 6 months to fix this...Then my place ended up getting broken into with about $4,000 worth of stuff getting stolen and they told me I had to pay for the door that got kicked in which never came with a dead bold which they were also supposed to get put on 6 months ago. I would never take the time writing reviews normally but wanted to make sure other people would have to go through what I did. ABSOLUTELY would not recommend them! The laziest and disrespectful staff I have ever had to deal with.

The apartment I had with this ...

The apartment I had with this place was clean and not leaking water but I can't tell you how many times I had to call about my air conditioner being fixed. They don't care if your apartment gets over 100 degrees as long as they can keep patching up things that need to be replaced. That is not an exaggeration it really did get over 100 degrees. Some of my belongings were melted and stuck together.
