Ripped me off!
Came back from vaca and there tow truck driver took my BMW to their shop because it wouldn't start. This was 4 am in the morning at a park and fly lot. I sent a note saying please call me in the morning and don't touch my car please, with my phone number. Had to take a cab to Freeport hotel, $50, because we were seeing a co very at the Nikon the next night. In the morning I get a call from Hillside saying I need a new starter & battery acid was leaking from my battery and with labor would be $1250
I said you were not supposed to touch my car, period. I called AAA, had another truck come tow it back to Poughkeepsie, 91 miles. My mechanic said my starter was like new, wires attached had been tampered with, there was nothing wrong with my battery. He said the guy was trying to take me for a ride. He also refused to let my car go with the 2nd row truck until I paid them $163.31 for a so called diagnostics test that I did not authorize. He held my car ransom until I paid it.
