Founded in 2002, Queens High School for the Sciences at York College offers a variety of educational and extracurricular programs for students. The school, in collaboration with York College, provides college preparatory curriculum that emphasizes on science and math. It offers classes in psychology, sociology, art, and computer and political science. The school also provides lessons in English, Spanish, French and history. Its physical education program includes dance, swimming, aerobics, yoga and team sports. The school operates chess, digital photography and drama clubs. It is a member of the National Consortium of Specialized Schools for Science, Mathematics and Technology. Queens High School for the Sciences at York College is located in Jamaica, N.Y.
