Our family had a wonderful wee...

Our family had a wonderful weekend in February 2010. We had a group of approx. 30people, in 10 to 15 poolside rooms. There were 2 or 3 other families there at the same weekend, everyone seemed to get along great and all the families seemed to have fun.

Our family worked with the Hotel for 2 months changing rooms and updating the amount of visitors. I never had a bad experience.

We have a neighbor family that has four wedding receptions with this hotel, and all were a great success.

I do believe the hotel is not up to the class (standards) it was in the 1980’s, but it is an older establishment. They have updated the beds (the rooms still smell smoky) after years of smoke; I believe it will take some time to remove that smell. Yes, they could use some more updates….hopefully their cooperate will see to that. What they have seems clean.

We never made it to the Restaurant or the Lounge, we where poolside with our families.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!

My friends have been going to this hotel for 20 years and after this incident, will never, ever go back.

Our stay should have been cut short the minute we checked in. We made our reservations over the phone with the 800# and with my sister's recent surgery, the woman who made the reservations "locked" in our rates and our rooms. When we checked in, the front desk stated, "I don't know who you spoke with, but she doesn't know how we do things here."

From that statement on, it pretty much went downhill. We had an incident at 3am that could have potentially put one of our children in the hospital. The night manager, Heather, was quick to make the other "local" person involved to leave the hotel. She was probably the only nice person who works there. Their security guard, JB, on the other hand, was a piece of work. Once the issue was completely resolved, did he decide to put his hands on my husband and one of our kids and force them out of the lobby. He threatened to contact the police, but for the "disruption" he thought my husband was making for the accusation about the knife. What would you do if one of your kids told you he had a knife held to his rib cage and was told he was going to get stabbed????

We waited until the next morning when the weekend manager PATTY came in. I spoke to Patty about the incident and her comment was, "We made him leave, what else would you like US to do?" How about take the initiative and COMP our hotel stay? Yeah, NO such luck whatsoever.

How does the saying go? You fool me once, shame on you, you fool me twice, shame on me. WELL, we decided to give the hotel ANOTHER chance and stayed another night.

Well, our 7 year old and one of our adult friends got chlorine burns from the pool. There are burn marks all over their legs, back and in-between. We called the front desk and they stated we could fill out an incident report and they would check the levels in the pool, which we did and had them do.

The next morning, our car was broken into. Apparently, there have been a string of break-ins at this hotel that they are well aware of and did not post signs or warnings of the recent break-ins. The only things that are being stolen from cars are radar detectors and GPS devices. It took the Janesville Police department OVER two hours to respond.

While waiting for the police to arrive, we went to have breakfast at the restaurant attached to the hotel. The server, SUE showed us to our table and very rudely stated as she sat down at the table next to us, "NOW I CAN FINISH MY BREAKFAST." To back this statement, we spoke to other people who work in the restaurant and they agreed that SUE is not a very nice person.

This hotel, I would not recommend to ANYONE. From the incidents, the rudeness of the hotel staff, not getting the correct rates we were quoted both on the internet and over the telephone AND then double charged for one of the night's stays, I would not even rate this hotel at all.
