Tennessee Galvanizing provides coating services that promote structural durability and protect against rust and corrosion. Hot dip galvanizing is the process of applying a zinc coating to fabricated iron or steel material by immersing the material in a bath consisting primarily of molten zinc. Galvanizing forms a metallurgical bond between the coating and the underlying material, creating a barrier that is an extension of the metal itself. Tennessee Galvanizing uses only special high-grade or high-grade zinc, which measure low in impurities and toxic metals such as lead. Zinc s corrosion rate is only a small fraction of that of steel. Zinc applied to steel can add 40 years to a component life expectancy. Galvanizing is comparable in cost and requires less maintenance than paint systems. Tennessee Galvanizing recycles and did not ship any hazardous waste off site in 2002 or 2003.
