I wish there was an option of 0 stars. Maybe if you are a long term permanent camper here, the community of the place may be appealing, but otherwise, NO! Everything is crammed together and although some of the campers are nice enough, some appear to have been abandoned for quite some time. The “lodge” is essentially a greasy spoon diner, nothing more. Can’t speak to the food as we didn’t eat there. The pool is very small and I believe you have to pay to use it, even if you are staying at the campground. Public bathrooms with the showers near the pool are nasty. Horrible smell, peeling paint and the stall door didn’t lock.
Do NOT consider this as a place to tent camp. You have the option of a shadeless field or an uneven ravine with a tree or two. Both of which offer old, fairly full port-o-potties as the “facilities”.
We had reservations about this place even after our first telephone interaction, and had we listened to our own intuition, we would have avoided a lot of wasted time and aggravation.
We have been to a number of similar types of campgrounds and this was by far the least appealing.
This place is poorly, poorly managed.

Stay away! 6 pedifiles live at this campground! They are Seasonal campers! Dump, dirty, drug overdoses, loud drunks all night long.

I would definitely recommend this place! I've camped here plenty of times with my children and they love it! There are a lot of permanent sites here I was told about 300, but have not had problems with the people whatsoever. It is a family-owned business and the staff and people make you feel like a part of one big family. There is a restaurant in the campground and may I add that the food is awesome! Burgers and sandwiches are all made fresh and the friday night fish fry is just amazing. I've gone canoeing with my kids and they loved it. You can go pretty far along the Bark River. There's just so much to do here and my children seem to love it. I'm thinking of getting a permanent site so we could be out here more often.

I wouldnt recommend this place. The place is crowded, seems like mostly permanents and semi-permanents. Many of whom were rude. The pool is small and shallow, and again, overrun by permanents. We went to check out the "fishing/swimming" ponds. On the way there had the misfortune of asking one of the permanents (an old lady at the pond entrance) to turn her blaring music down. In turn, she turned it up even more and the other nearby permanents were screaming at us that they can have it as loud as they want. (Possibly no quiet rules there.) Bark River is usually ankle deep in this area throughout the summer, and it was this year too. And so the canoes sit (too shallow in the river for canoes). The "swimming" pond is black, murky, weedy, untreated, undredged for quite some time. I would be afraid of what kind of fish came out of there, let alone have my children swim in it. The nearby cottonwoods were seeding all over it too. And the other pond next to it, just as bad. Nowhere to fish, nowhere to swim, overcrowded, rude people. No thanks.

Great place and cheap too!!

This is the place that me and my family camp at always! Despite the awful review given here I will disagree with everything that was said! First of all, what kind of campground offers a pool to swim in??? Obviously it is an optional thing and 75cents is not much of a fee to swim at the pool. If you don't want to give the 75cents there is also a pond that obviously is free and the Bark River which runs through the campground where people can go canoeing. When it gets busy, especially for concert weekends you cannot control people drinking and believe me the cops have been callen some times when there were problems but they were not able to do anything. All I want to say is that the campground offers amentities that are not offered anywhere else. No campground around the area offers a pool, a RESTAURANT that serves fast food as well as fried fish on Fridays!!!! There are parks for children as well as a kiddie pool for them as well. There are fire rings for a fire pit as well as bathrooms and not only are the actual bathrooms and showers (that not much campgrounds have) there are obviously portipotties around as well. Furthermore, there are terms and conditions and one of them involves refunds whether they are accepted or not. Next time be sure to read or ask about the policies in the campground instead of not paying attention to the policies and then trying to get things your way. We always have a great time here! It is owned by a great family and we have been camping here for a while and everyone makes us feel like we are part of the campground family! Of course everyone's opinion is accepted, but there is no need to rant so negatively! Bless you all.

Stay far, far away. We needed a place to tent camp for a few days and the State Parks were full but this place said they had room. Tent sites to them are a big open field, uneven ground and no shade. The price for hot sun, no electric or water was 12.00 per person per night. Use of the pool was extra and you even had to pay for the showers. We were not told where to get water and when I asked was directed to the bathroom sink. The bathrooms are awful. This is mainly a trailer park resort and there are drunken parties on the weekend. We felt threatend by the violent areguement next door and had no idea who to call. There was supposed to be security but we saw him once- having a beer with some other guys. Two women were having a fist fight in the bathroom during a "dance" and another woman had a black eye that her boyfriend/husband proudly proclaimed he gave her. None of this was reported to the police. After 2 nights of not sleeping because of all the drunken fights we asked for 1 nights rent back. We were offered half a nights fee in the form of a raincheck. When I said we wouldn't be coming back and didn't want the raincheck he refused to give us a refund and his comment about the drunken fights were .." well you know people get drunk sometimes." They have no tent camping, no fire rings, no marked sights, no shade and they make it very obvious they don't want tent campers there. I have filled in the Jefferson County sheriffs office about what goes on there. There should have been tickets and arrests for the drunken fighting those 2 nights. If you like trailor park trash this is your spot. The owner refused to give me his name and all problems were to be directed to "matt" according to the posted signs but there was no phone number.
