Founded in 1871, the Jeffersonville Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that provides fire suppression, heavy and water rescue and nontransport emergency medical services. It serves an area of more than 30 square miles and operates over two fire stations. The department employs several firefighters and rescue operators.
