I informed them of a vacation I had planned before I was hired. I was told by both managers that it would not count against me. I was then terminated after missing a day due to my child and told that my other pony came from my vacation and a day I left an hour early to complete my final at school. The point system is supposed to be no discriminatory but it clearly was not. I believe they fired me due to finding out I was pregnant. The manager even said I told you that your vacation was approved but I never told you it wouldn’t count against you. Even though I clearly asked the first day if I would receive a point for vacation and was told both by my manager and the head manager no. It’s awful to fire someone with no hesitation or regard to them. The HR manager was rude the whole time while firing me told me it wasn’t “up for debate and it didn’t really matter what anyone told me I would still be terminated “

I am actually a somewhat new employee with UIC and I cant even begin to describe how great this company is. The professionalism that is displayed with all of our clients is followed through with the inter-office relationship between the management and employees as well. At the same time the relationships I have seen, seem to have grown into more than a business relationship because everyone (management and employees alike) have such a respect and appreciation for each other. I have worked in this type of business environment for about 12 years and coming into this company was so completely different than ALL the other companies I have ever been with. The lanes of communication between superiors and employees are so open, and its definitely a 2-way street. Whether you are considering UIC for a carrier or you are a potential client considering UIC to help your Business prosper, I can guarantee that the relationship that you have with UIC will be one filled with respect, appreciation, and so much room to develop and grow!
