Provided by YP.comIf it were possible to give this business 0 stars, I absolutely would. You may find yourself led to them—as I did—by a Craigslist post for a used car labeled as 'by owner'. Without knowing that he intended to operate as an LLC, Danny told me over the phone that he was selling a car on behalf of someone else. I was directed to view the car at Eagle Car Wash in Jersey City. I arrived at Eagle Car Wash and was met by Danny. His response to the first and most important question, "has this car been in a wreck?", turned out to be a lie. He assured me it had not. After a local mechanic's general inspection, I decided to buy the car. After all, it drove well! (I will always regret trusting Dakar/Danny and not getting a Carfax report). After buying the car, I ran it through the on-site car wash and drove home. When I arrived home, I noticed roughly 1 inch of water pooled in the rear passenger side foot well. Danny seemed surprised. I promptly visited approx. 6 auto body and auto glass places trying to surmise the problem—receiving estimates north of $1,100. This was a tremendous waste of my time. Seeing as this was roughly 20% of the purchase price, I contacted Dakar to discuss terms of them buying back a car they must have known had serious issues. Even when confronted with the fact that he lied about the car having been in a wreck, Danny stuck by the terms of the Dakar LLC sale -- "this car is as is". He said any offer to buy the car back would have be for far less than 90% of what I paid.
I must stress: DO NOT deal with this shady 'business'. You could find yourself spending far far more than you ever intended. Everything about my transaction with Dakar feels dirty. Buying a car should be a joyful experience. Buy one from someone who has at least a shred of decency.
