I went to purchase a car at Magic Auto Sales in Jersey City on and found a car that i liked and placed a deposit on the car after taking it on a test drive. I paid the deposit by card and then took it to my mechanic so that they can check out the car to make sure it was running well. My mechanic looked at the car and advised me not to purchase the car because there were close to 2000 dollars worth of damages on the car and the car would not be even close to passing inspection so I returned the car since I had not purchased it so it was not too late.I was told that there were other cars i could look at and put my deposit towards a different car but i declined and asked for my deposit back. I was told that they would refund my money back the next day and to check my bank account the next day. The next day i checked my bank account and the money was not there. I called magic auto sales and asked about my money and i was told by Robert the sales person that he couldnt refund me my money because he needed a code from the owner. This did not make sense to me since the day before i was told that my money was refunded already. I was then told that the owner did not want to give me my money back . I asked to speak to the owner and no one at the place wants to give me information so that i can speak to the owner and Robert the sales person keeps changing the story and lying to me about my money . I never signed anything that stated that i couldnt get my money back but they refuse to give me my money back and continue to lie to me even to the point of saying that my bank called them and that my money was refunded but when I called the bank there was no record of the bank having called and nothing refunded to me. Because of this I filed a police report, a dispute at the bank, a complaint with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, and a complaint with BBB, as well as with the State Attorney General, and I got myself a lawyer and contacted the news station.

After checking out the reviews on Yelp and Facebook it is clear that this dealership has scammed many people. Myself included. We were sold a car and soon discovered that the car was being financed for $4000 more than what we agreed to. Per the bank, my boyfriend's e-signature had also been copied onto a document for that unauthorized price. The sales manager, Robert, is reluctant to provide proper documentation, bills of sale, etc. When you try to contact him to resolve the issues, he will give you the run around or not return phone calls. After learning of the fraudulent car price, we actually returned the vehicle and requested a contract termination. This resulted in weeks of phone calls not being returned and the sales manager texting unfulfilled promises to fix the problem. In addition, our permanent plates were not issued on time and we couldn't drive the car since the temp tags had expired. This was despite the fact that we contacted Magic Auto a few days prior to the temp's expiration requesting the status of our tags. As of today, we are still attempting to get our deposit back since the entire transaction was dishonest and unethical. Also, in your presence they will try to act as if they care about your concerns, however, we have recent text messages from the sales manager where he is cursing at us in his message and stating that he will see us in court! We are honest, hardworking individuals who simply wanted an extra car for our family but this experience has turned into a nightmare!

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. BEWARE!!! THE SALES MANAGER Robert Deleva INTENTIONALLY FORGETS TO GIVE BILL OF SALE OR ANY OTHER PROOF OF CAR PRICE SO HE CAN HIKE UP THE PRICE WEHN COMMUNICATING TO THE BANKS. I RENCENTLY FINANCE A CAR THROUGH THEM WHICH WAS PRICED AT $7999. Robert Deleva TOLD THE BANK THAT I WENT THROUGH THAT THE CAR WAS BEING SOLD FOR $12100. Robert Deleva, SALES MANAGER for magic auto sales tried to pocket over $4000. BEWARE. AFTER TELLING Robert Deleva ABOUT THE PRICE DISCREPANCY HE RESPONDING BY SAYING I ALREADY SIGNED EVERYTHING SO ITS TOO LATE. THAT INDICATED TO ME THAT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!!
