DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES. This is a shady business that will send you legitimate paperwork and contracts to sign but will not honor them in the end. They will quote you a price to move your belongings but will then quote you another price to move your belongings off the truck. They will tell you that they have the right to put your belongings in storage and charge you a daily rate to keep it there if you do not pay the new price they quote you. At they end, you really have no choice but to pay which ever price they give you if you want your things. Please be smarter than me and read all their negative reviews and go with another mover. They are not to be trusted. If I could give them no stars, I would absolutely do so!

Exactly within the quoted price! Packed up my stuff, disassembled and reassembled my furniture, and beat me to the destination! Couldn't have been a smoother experience.

Absolutely! In the past 2 years, I've moved more often than I'd like to admit. For my last two moves, I hired StarCity and they were fantastic. Super quick (about 2 hours moving the contents of one bedroom and some kitchen boxes). The men were nice and polite. Very reasonable and never felt uncomfortable or worried. Every single piece of furniture was wrapped really well.

Hopefully I will not be moving anytime soon, but I recommend StarCity to friends and family.

Awesome company! We had a great experience using Starcity for our recent move. They are friendly, careful, hard working movers with a great attitude. The owner is super helpful and not only visited the location that we were moving from, but the location that we were moving to, in order to develop an accurate quote. The move ended up being less than the estimate, which was a great surprise. Great deal. We would definitely use them again and recommend to our friends.

These guys are amazing. From start to finish they were very professional, overly courteous and friendly to make sure every part of your move is done smoothly. Bar was the lady we spoke to on the phone to get things started and she always sounded like she had your best interest in mind. The guy "Mark" and the 2 other movers (who deserves huge amount of recognition) also made sure our time was valuable and didn't waste any time moving.

Nobody likes to move.... its annoying and time consuming. Luckily I had Rolando, Ruffino and Ignacio to help out last week. Their team was great! Fast, efficient, and courteous. I would recommend them to anyone. Cheers!

A NIGHTMARE, THE WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! TWO YEARS LATER I AM STILL SHAKING. ALL POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS.

We had a horrendous experience with Starcity. I cannot even name all the things that went wrong with our move to GA. Starting with no confirmation days before we were to move, the experience went from disconcerting to nightmarish on the day of the move. As others have stated, StarCity arrived more than 4 hours late, blaming the situation on traffic on the GW bridge. When they arrived they were woefully unprepared, instead of showing up with two large trucks, yes we do have a gargantuan amount of stuff, they showed up with a small truck and a tiny one, the wrong car tow, and fewer men than were promised. Dean was not available for response though we were told that he was going to come and was on his way repeatedly throughout the day. Since they were overwhelmed by the job and needed to get additional trucks and the correct tow the move went on till midnight that night and continued till 5pm the next day. As far as furniture being wrapped many items were treated with no care whatsoever, and some things were wrapped with such abandon that the wrapping itself caused damage. Can you believe they actually broke our mattress? The move was unbelievable from the day of the move till the end, more than six weeks later. My things arrived wet. How, I have no idea but two boxes of clothing were more than damp, smelly and needed to be washed. The trucks were packed every which way with reckless abandon, I don't think it could have been done more poorly if they had tried. Innumerable things arrived with damage, which broke our hearts as many items were valuable and well loved antiques. At no time did anyone in StarCity apologize or take any responsibility for the situation, blaming everything on the estimator, that purportedly was asked to leave the company due to his bad estimates, and us. (If I had an employee that I removed due to poor performance, I would make sure any work in process was rechecked). What we didn't pack the mattress? We expected our things to actually be delivered? Yes, we did expect that our moving company would move us instead of storing our items for weeks, delivering them piecemeal and telling us to be grateful that we weren't being charged for storage and how much of an expense, that storage of items we wanted delivered, was to Dean. I could go on and on. The situation was appalling. I have never in my life experienced anything that even approached this horror. I also cannot believe that this company is allowed to be in business. Perhaps instead of taking care of their business, they spend their time writing their own reviews, because I cannot believe that they are even capable of delivering the kind of wonderful service that others report.

After reading the reviews online, we hired StarCity Movers to help us move 0.8 miles. Generally someone comes in to give a quote, but here it was done over the phone. We were a little uncomfortable, but the moving company said that is how they do it. So, just to make sure we went over the inventory list twice with StarCity movers to make sure that they know what all they will have to move. They gave us a flat, guaranteed rate with a minimum of 3 helpers, included 5 wardrobe boxes and we signed the contract.

However, on the day of the move, which was November 10, 2014 only two movers showed up with no wardrobe boxes. When we asked them why there are only two of them and where are the 5 wardrobe boxes, they said that the other guy didn’t show up and their manager didn’t tell them anything about wardrobe boxes. When we showed them the contract they said the best they can do is share with us the two wardrobe boxes they carried to store blankets (to wrap furnitures).

We had a certain time window booked for the elevators in both the buildings and we panicked thinking what if they can’t move within that specific time window and so we called StarCity inquiring about the missing wardrobe boxes and asked them to send the third mover. The representative who answered the phone said that she would get back after talking to the field manager. We waited for 45 minutes, but no one called. Then we had no choice but to run to the home depot to get the wardrobe boxes.

Long story short, we have a lot of furniture, which was not quite manageable by two movers, and as a result, they damaged our furniture and broke expensive glassware, which were packed with bubble wraps in the box and were labeled FRAGILE.

Our furniture is from Ashley’s and they broke the knob of our dresser which is about 200 pounds, scratched the frame of our king bed, ripped of the cloth underneath the leather sofa and scratched the leather. Other than that they destroyed two serving sets, which we had received as a gift during our wedding from pottery barn let alone cups and other glass stuff. When we called them the next day to tell this, the owner of StarCity told us that they are not liable for what was in the box. However, we are yet to understand why they only could send two helpers when the contract said three and two wardrobe boxes when the contract said five.

We have moved 4 times in the past and this is for the first time we have come across such an unprofessional moving company. If they had sent three movers I think the move would have been easier and maybe our furniture and all those glassware could have been saved. I am saying this because those two guys were so tired after loading the furniture, boxes and 5 wardrobe boxes, that they went for 1hour 30 minute lunch break in the middle on the move (which should have been a 30 min break). The movers constantly companied about how difficult it was for two of them to move all that stuff, and it was a three men job.

I would strongly advise not to hire this moving company. It is better you spend $100 more and get a reliable moving company rather than hire movers like StarCity. With the holiday season right around the corner we had to buy a whole serving set to replace our previous glassware. I still don’t know what I am supposed to do with the dresser and the bed frame. Our sofa was insured so that is something we can replace.

One last thing, which I have to mention, when I called StarCity Mover just to let them know how bad their service was. Instead of apologizing or saying what we can do to help the owner was like, where the furniture’s from, IKEA?

I would have loved to upload the pictures of the damaged stuff, but unfortunately there is no option for that.

Please STAY AWAY from this moving company!!!

I fully agree with Rashelda, however, my situation was MUCH worse. They called the day my stuff was supposed to be delivered to Massachusetts to say they wouldn't come until the next day. So I was in an empty apartment with no bed or anything else. They did arrive the next day, but with only some of my possessions. Most of my things were missing, and although some were found 3 weeks later (after making about 20 very stressful phone calls), most of that was damaged. And now a month later, many things were never found. I have lost about $4,500 worth of things, and they will not return my phone calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

The list of damages and complaints: New paved drive way has holes/divets due to the lift gate on truck and is stained from leaking engine fluids. Multiple ceramic tiles are chipped. Scuff marks/dents/holes on exterior of house in entree way siding/front door. Several damaged items to include my bedroom set, my living room couch, my dinning room table and chairs, entertainment center, door ways, walls, and brand new refinished floors. My wife and I had to assemble our sectional couch as movers refused to. Movers were 1 1/2 hrs late. I was promised 3 workers and one driver 2 people " non-english speaking and covered in jail house/gang tattoos " showed in a Ryder box truck no company logos. I was told I was being charged for each roll of tape used and covering furniture is extra not outlined in contract. They did not have any tools I had to supply them. My wife had to make 2 trips to - fro house/apt to get tools. They did not move a lamp, TV and mirror all which were on check list I had to move in my personal vehicle. I purchased them lunch and provided drinks all day also tipped them recommended percentage. Several emails were sent. Driver called after email sent complaining I sent them and promising someone would come and fix said items. Communication is null at its best. BBB claim was filed. Dean Laster informs me insurance covers .60 per pound and 50.00 is all he could refund after days of no responce. Legal services obtained and will proceed until satisfied. DO NOT USE STARCITY FOR ANY SERVICES EXTREAMLY AN UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY !!!

Avoid them and save yourself from Stress, loss of valuables and talking to rude and arrogant people.

****As of today I am still waiting for my TV, no reimbursement and replacement in sight yet. On top of that I have to deal with the arrogant and rude people. Read my experience with Star City moving and use their Service IF- You don't mind loosing your TV. They lost my $800 TV and the owner Dean keeps lying about sending me a replacement TV. My stuff was delivered 2 weeks ago without TV and my beach umbrella but no signs of Getting them back yet. Dean send me a check if you are are super busy as you claim to order a TV for me. You are Ok with taking Off from the office because your stuff if supposed to be delivered on that day. But they don't show up entire day and don't even inform that they will not deliver.

You are OK with them making a fool of you by promising they will deliver next day and finally your stuff is delivered after 5 days from that date you have given them 5 days in advance(they tell you to give 48 hrs advance notice I gave 120hrs) and them confirmed with them 2 days prior to he delivery date. And you end up paying for 5 days of hotel stay. No apologies from star city.

You are OK making 100 calls to their field manager Rolando who is the only person in the entire company to know where your stuff is and guess what he will never pick up your call, so your are praying everyday that they call you and deliver your stuff today. If you are OK dealing with a bunch of people who are sitting in Philadelphia(Carlos/Meghan etc, numbers posted on their website) who are so helpless they don't what's going on. They simply say "we are in Philadelphia we don't have our eyes on what going on in the warehouse or field, talk to Rolando" Good luck with that.

You are OK paying the balance before they start unloading your stuff so that you don't figure out what's missing and hold back the money. You pay for non-sharing move but you are Ok with them combining the moved with 2 other moves and putting everything in same truck. And guess what don't expect any apologies let alone the money since you paid for sharing they put your stuff other people's stuff in the same truck.

I'm disappointed to write the review I am writing. After now three+ weeks of phone calls, emails and attempted contact, nothing has been resolved and all I have received is empty promises of resolution. I STRONGLY suggest you look elsewhere for moving services.

On May 18th, the day before the move, they called to see if I could change the time or date of the agreed move, a fine but impossible option as my wife was (and still currently is) 9 months pregnant. They had double booked for the morning of May 19th, but they did work out the schedule and said they would send five guys to have the move go quickly. Day of the move, three guys show up and all in all, the packing of the truck was going smoothly despite the lack of two people. Two of the guys were about to carry my large and very heavy 170 bottle wine cellar down three flights of stairs without an appliance dolly or any sort of assistance when I asked how they're planning on doing this, wine cellars parts are pretty fragile and this single piece was the entire reason I decided to hire a moving crew. They said they had it under control and I trusted them as they were apparently "professionals".

I stayed behind to finish cleaning the apartment and turn in my keys, on my way to the house, my wife tells me they broke a mirrored dresser and heavily scratched the antique cedar chest. I arrived home and saw (and currently see) a 3" crack through one of the antique mirrored drawers of my wife's Crate and Barrel dresser and two gouges (14" and 6") the cedar chest side and top, which my wife tells me they never covered with a blanket or protected in any way for transport. The foreman gives me Rolando's number, and he said in broken english I "need to work it out with Rolando". I describe the broken and damaged items, including my worries about the wine cellar and it's integrity, and Rolando tells me to email pictures and he will "take care of it by the end of the week". I sent a detailed and picture filled email that night after I finished at work and then a whole lot of nothing happened.

Flash forward to today, now almost a full month since the move. Rolando has told me to talk to Dean as he is only the Regional Manager and Dean is the owner, but despite calling a varying times, Dean never seems to be in, very coincidental timing that he is never in for weeks at a time when I call. The wine cellar does not cool or even regulate temperature (a REALLY big paper weight now as it is useless in its current form), the cracked mirrored dresser is no longer available for replacement pieces to be ordered, and the antique cedar chest is just as gouged as when they moved it. Oh, and my 40+ week pregnant wife is still pregnant. I have called a minimum of 15 times, left messages, spoken to all sorts of people (Meggan was the first person I spoke to that spoke with honesty when she told me she has no idea if Dean will call me back).

I am literally only asking for resolution and a conversation. Instead, all I get is everyone telling me to speak to someone else or taking my number, which has never been called by Star City Moving, and never an apology for wasting my time. I beg of anyone looking for a moving company to chose someone else, or just pray they have more courteous and careful movers than we had. I hope for a resolution to the move before my soon to be born son turns 8, but I'm not holding my breath.

A great, uneventful move from NYC to DC! StarCity moved my daughter from a NYC apartment to one in DC. Dealing with Carlos in the office was a delight; very prompt and efficient. Unlike other moving companies, they had no problem with picking up in NYC, stopping at a location in NJ for a drop off and more pick-ups, and arriving in DC later that same day. They lived up to their flat rate quote of $1850, where another company wanted to charge over $5,000 and wouldn't drop our furniture off in DC until the next day. The moving team was efficient, agreeable, smart, and handy with tools. They easily dismantled a wall mounted TV, dismantled and re-assembled beds and other furniture. A They arrived when expected, at all 3 of the locations involved in our move. I don't hesitate to recommend StarCity. I feel like I lucked out, since I found them via a Google search; I couldn't have made a better choice!

I had over 5 moving companies provide me with estimates and was favoring Star City Moving due to their services and comfort I had established with their sales person, Julio. My fiancé had initially spoken to Dean which was explained to be an owner of the company. After receiving the initial quote, we realized it was substantially higher than the other quotes we had received, but that wasn't a show stopper for us "initially". Star City also offers an auto transport service that was attractive to us as well. I spoke with Carlos (a representative of the company" and asked if there was an opportunity to get a reduction in price due to us moving forward with the bulk or "bundling" of their services. Carlos response was that he would call me by 5:00 PM that day after speaking with the owner, and I replied that I appreciated that because I was ready to move forward and schedule my move. I never heard from Carlos or anyone else from the company until I had to call myself and inquire about my last conversation the following day after 5:00 PM. Carlos acted as if he didn’t recall who I was or what our conversation consisted of. He then put me on hold after I "refreshed" his memory, and returned and stated that Dean "One of the owners" "decided that they weren't going to help me". Carlos also stated that he was going to call me after he was told this the day before and let me know what the response was, but was told by the owner "Why bother" we aren't doing business with them, so don't call them". Who does business like that? I am also Co-owner of a company and would never treat a potential customer or an existing customer like that. To have someone wait unnecessarily when you already have the answer, when most times there are so many other things that are dependent on a move date is selfish and extremely unprofessional. To say that I was surprised or taken back by their response would be an understatement. I would just be weary of a company that stresses that they are so professional, but when it comes to simple communication; it all goes out the window!

I had a very positive experience with Starcity Moving. I moved from Montclair NJ to Washington NJ. Price was very competitive and service was excellent. They showed up on time, load and drove to my new residence within excellent timeframe. My stuff was unloaded in a very efficient manner and I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. They were very professional, both in their mannerism and appearance. I would highly recommend them.
