The Kay Jewelers store in the Oakdale Mall Johnson City, NY is horrible. My dad repeatedly bought my mom jewelry from here and bought the warranties. This past Christmas 2017 he bought her a diamond ring. My dad became ill with Pancreatic Cancer and my mom sat by his side every day to be with him until he passed the end of August. Due to this and obviously with her husband (my dad) dying getting the ring purchased not even a year ago "checked" was the last thing on anyone's mind. A week after he passed my mom noticed one of the small diamonds missing. This ring has a beautiful memory of my dad for my mom. So, she took it to this store for repair and because it hadn't been checked she was charged $78.00 for repairs. Let me add she was never called to tell her it was done being fixed and at the store. No exceptions were given due to the circumstances. She called me after her experience when picking up the ring crying her eyes out. I understand stores have policies however I personally know people that the no exceptions policy didn't apply to and they had jewelry not checked based on their guidelines fixed for free. My mom did a chat on their site afterward and recvd a similar response. Our family has literally spent thousands of $ at this store. The company and employees are the most heartless I have ever seen. If you walk the mall a bit you will find Van Cott Jewelers. They will welcome you, help you & assist you. They will treat you with respect. I understand companies need to follow their guidelines and ultimately my complaint isn't even about the charge for the ring to be fixed. My complaint is how poor customer service is for this company. It is extremely obvious that corporate doesn't care about their customers therefore neither does this store in Johnson City, NY. To this heartless company I hope none of you personally ever have to experience such a tradegy and be treated as poorly as you have treated my mom!

Barbara Boyle the so called manager has the poorest attitude I have ever seen.
Very unprofessional and never smiles.
She will argue with you to no prevail.
The bracelets are garbage and so is the repair dept.
Wouldnt be so bad if Barbara would smile just once or go out of her way to be nice and she never is.
If you dont like your job Barbara then quit.
You truly dont know the meaning of customer service.
Jeanie must be taking lessons from her because she is starting to be moody just like her manager.
Kays I used to spend $20,000 a year with your stores and I now shop at Zales because I will never ever frequent your shops again.
Any corporation who allows people like Barbara to run a store doesnt deserve my business..
I walk into Zales and receive huge smiles and greetings, I walk into Kays and get attitude.
If I didnt have like 40 warranties I paid for trust me I wouldnt go back.
Ugh I cringe when something of mines breaks because I know she is going to be their and make my life miserable.
Watches are great, necklaces are great, rings are fantastic but dont buy junk bracelets.
I have had mine in 15 times this year alone.

We have bought several pieces of jewelry over many years and have found the staff at this particular Kays to be professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Most of the rings that we purchased had to be resized and were done within a couple weeks with no problem.
