I live in TN, bought a mobile home in VA in mid Oct and hired Tommy Dishner (A1) to do some grading work and move the home to TN by the end of Nov. He said no problem and asked for $4000 as a partial pmt and we paid him in good faith. Over and over he told us he would get to work on it in a couple of days. Those days never came. In all of the weeks that followed, he and his sons dug a water line and moved some level dirt around. Nothing else. Tommy took the money we gave him and rented equipment to work on his own property⦠and BRAGGED about it to us. When it became clear he was not going to get the land ready to set up the home, he promised he would move the home on the land and come back to work on it in a few days⦠never happened and def won't happen by the end of Nov. Tommy told me he was not actually the boss at his company, that his sons were. When we spoke with the sons before everything fell apart, they said the family all works together. But when they didn't get the job done, Tommy and his son said they all definitely had separate companies. Recently, I checked the better business bureau and A1 has an F rating and Reliable Mobile Home Services has a D rating with complaints for ripping people off just like what happened to us. I decided to report Tommy to the licensing boards in states of VA and TN⦠When I contacted the Board for Contractors in Richmond VA and they couldn't find any license or insurance for Tommy to transport mobile homes across state lines. So, he was never going to move my home. He planned to rip me off from the start. When I started calling other movers and telling my story, no one was surprised in the least. I will probably never get my money back but by sharing what happened to me, maybe it will stop someone else from ending up in the same mess.
