My sister was overdrawn on her account she lost her job and couldnt pay it back. A few weeks go by and my father tried to use his debit card and it kept getting rejected so he called chase customer service and they told him of the situation that they froze his account and they told him to go to his bank and speak with the branch manager and they should be able to release my fathers money. So my father went to chase and talked with the branch manager and told them that my sister is not on his account why is his account frozen. They wanted proof that she was not on the account even though they could just look it up and they also wanted him to fill out some paper work and they said after my father is done doing that then they should be able to release his money. So my father showed them the proof that she was not on the account and he filled out the paper work and he asked the branch manager if he could have his money they said it wasnt up to them that he would have to call customer service and speak with them. So my father called customer service and they told him again it wasnt up to them that he would have to speak with the branch manager. So my father went back to chase and spoke with the branch manager and they said sorry there was nothing they could do and my father never got back his money.I didnt know it was legal to freeze somebodys account because a relative that goes to the same bank was overdrawn. My advise I wouldnt do any banking with chase unless you want them to steal your money.
