Provided by YP.comI lived at the Jami Bee for about three months. The first thing I can say about it is that it is a crackhead motel. If you rent a room here, you can rest assured one of the two rooms on either side of you will have someone smoking crack in it. People will knock on your door in the middle of the night to get money or crack. If you have a car, they will vandalize it or steal from it if you do not drive them to buy crack. So, in short, crackhead motel.
The cleaning lady that was there, living in a trailer in the rear of the property, has a daughter that should go to social services. I've heard her being beaten or molested or who knows what, but I didn't have a full name to report to the police. The cleaning lady was also remarkably bad at cleaning, and would refuse to clean my room if I had anything on the floor, including a packed suitcase in a corner. She changed my bed with dirty sheets once. She refuses to clean the room with you in it, then she rummages through your stuff, quite plainly, then lies to your face about it. Remember that packed suitcase? I came back to it open and disheveled with my pack of cigarettes missing. She will insist upon going in your room whether you want it cleaned or not, just to snoop, and she smells worse than the room.
The building has rodents and holes in the walls, and doors that can be pushed open with a strong fart. Some rooms have roaches. Most rooms have a strange odor that is unique to every room and cannot be covered with Febreeze or brimstone. The soda machine doesn't always work, and the ice machine is dirty to a point where it would be illegal to serve that ice in a restaurant.
The one redeeming characteristic about that place is the owner, a no-BS woman who has owned the building since the 1970's and has a really awesome grandson who had just shot his first buck that year. She's a wolf in sheep's clothing, I won't lie, but she let me stay for free for a week when I was unable to pay my fee, and she did it because I was honestly looking for work. I got a job, she let me stay another 2 weeks until I got my paycheck, at which point I was around a week behind every week. She wouldn't have done it if I wasn't white, though.
Don't stay here, unless you are leaving town the next day or just got kicked out of your home. It is the cheapest place in town, and it shows.
