Provided by YP.comMy hedgehog had an eye injury and was seen be the emergency vet on Sunday evening. The e-vet recommended the eye being surgically removed but could not do the surgery herself as they aren’t experienced in doing surgery on exotics and hedgehogs in particular require special care with anesthesia. They recommended either Cornerstone or James River Vet Clinic all the way in Springfield. I called Cornerstone as soon as they opened at 7:30 am and they got him in at 8:30. Dr Stroud was very knowledgeable, empathetic, and patient, especially since hedgehogs are difficult to work with. The only downside is that the surgery wasn’t scheduled as quickly as I would have liked, but the vet was scheduled for surgery with another animal so it’s understandable.

Provided by YP.comI have been taking my pets all seven for the last 26 yrs to Cornerstone Animal Hospital. The doctors have been wonderful not only to my pets but to our family when ever we faced difficult health situations. I have referred friends and family as well & they have enjoyed the same treatment we did.

Provided by YP.comThank you for cleaning Betsy's teeth, they were really bad, I know, but I was so worried about putting her under anesthesia that I could not bring my self to do it, thank you for reassuring me that everything would go well and going over the treatment plan as well as how the procedure goes it really helped and for calling me when she was in recovery

Provided by YP.comAwesome Service, my cat who has a history of urinary problems needed to be seen asap he was in so much pain in his belly. I just moved here and had not got a new vet yet. when I called, to see if I could get an appt, the person on the phone, said it sounded like Tom had a real emergency, and needed to be seen right away, even though the hospital was busy they got Tom in. I brought Tom in, a nurse came and got him said, we will take Tom to treatment to get his vitals and check his stability. Then Dr Loden talked with me, Tom was indeed blocked, being that he has had urinary problems like this in the past I figured that is what was wrong this time. Dr Loden and his staff was amazing. Thank you so much for getting Tom in right away, I have found a new vet ! Thank you for calling with an update, and taking care of Tom

Provided by YP.comI am not surprised with these bad reviews I live down the street from this place and never see cars in front of the building at all. I did call them a year ago when I first moved here and the same as one review they were so rude on the phone I did not go in. A year later I decided to go ahead and give them a chance since I have not yet found a new vet in this area and it would be great to have a vet just down the road. ..
My dog hurt her leg on Sunday we took her to a trusted emergency vet and they said her fibula bone had a slight fracture that it would not need a splint on it if she stays off of it but if she is really active take her to your vet and have one put on. The next day I decided to try cornerstone vet out. we brought in our x-rays and Dr.Donald Loden said he could not read them they were over exposed he needed to give her a sedative and take new ones and she was in pain so needed Morphine and to stay the night at cornerstone and probably needs surgery and kept for a week. My mouth dropped because I looked at the x-ray cd and I saw the crack as clear as day. I did not trust Dr.Donald Loden from this moment on and did not want to leave my dog with him for unnecessary treatment. Long story a little shorter I have had 4 vets look at this ex-ray 3 here in Joplin and 1 from my long time and well trusted vet 150 miles out, they all say the same thing it is clear and it is a fracture and no splint is needed!!!
It is sad that they would play on a pet owners heart strings and would put a innocent animal through unnecessary treatment just for a extra buck! Shame on them!
Final note : Dr.Donald Loden is either a very bad vet and could not read on the x-rays that 4 other vets could clearly read - or he is a scam artist either way I give him a F-
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We are always excited to see postive reviews. While we do not desire negative reviews our customer service department takes them very seriously, wanting to reach out and resolve them if at all possible. You presented your dog with a non-weight bearing lameness of the rear limb. It is our understanding that you tied the dog to your golf cart, forcing it to run beside the cart until it collapsed in front of the cart, at which time you drove over the dog's leg accidentally. The dog was seen by the Four State Area Emergency Clinc where x-rays were taken. The next day you requested Cornerstone Animal Hospital provide a second opionion on the recommendations given you by the emergency clinic. A copy of the x-rays was reviewed by Donald Loden DVM and Linda Scorse DVM. The copy of the x-rays was overexposed. The animal was not positioned properly to evalute the leg. Since fibula fractures do not generally cause non-weight bearing lameness in small animals and the xrays were inferior quality Dr. Loden recommended quality x-rays to be obtained for a proper evaluation. You declined these recommendations, paid the fee for the second opinion, and left with your dog. Confusion arises now, because we are unclear as to why you wanted a second opinion,if indeed you were satified with the Four State Emergency Clinic evaluation of the dog. Forty-eight hours later, you called and demanded the fee charged for the second opinion to be refunded. When a service, such as a second professional opinion,is provided, whether you accepted it or not,the fee is not refundable. For some reason, you feel you should not have to pay for the time and evaluation of your pet that you requested. Because it is our goal to provide quality customer service, I explained to you our customer service department would review your request if you would simply provide a letter from one of the veterinarians, stating that the copy of the x-rays was top quality, with the dog being correctly positioned and the fracture easily identifiable. At this point, you became a cyperbully, refusing to provide the letter, and threatening to leave negative feed back on the web if we did not comply with your demands. We want to work with you to resolve this problem, so please stop being a cyberbully. All we ask is that you provide the requested documentaion to our service department to solve this problem. Cornerstone Animal Hospital is the only hospital in the area that has allowed an independent, third party to inspect them ensuring the public of a high quality standard of care. We have cerftification by the American Animal Hospital Association that our hospital provides a high stanard of excellence in patient care. Only about twelve percent of the hospitals in the United States and Canada have achieved this high rating and honor.

Provided by YP.comTook my Dog in for an examination, the hospital was clean, and receptionist was kind and informative, did not have much of a wait before going to the exam room. Everyone was so nice the staff very professional caring and my dog Sammy who usually freaks out about everything seem to be happy wagging his tail. the nurse was gentle and patient with him. When the Dr came in he was kind gentle durning the exam, checked his ears and everything with out Sammy putting up a fight the Dr talked about Sammy's teeth and that they needed to be cleaned but I was like he is only 3 years old, the Dr showed me the tarter, I was worried that I could not afford the dental because I am on a fixed income, but the hospital staff worked with me, the offered care credit, and did a treatment plan that was affordable. I highly recommend this hospital the care and patience alone is top notch. Sammy got his teeth cleaned. When I went to pick him up he came trotting out like he was just part of the crew. the staff went over home care they really care, like they say pets are family too, they mean it! very pleased wont go any where else Thank you Dr Loden and Staff !

Provided by YPmobileCornerstone has been the best animal care I could have hoped for. They are friendly and professional and they even go the extra mile by calling to check on their patients after treatment. My own doctors office doesn't do that. Very happy to take all my four legged family members to them.
