I visited JB's Piano Bar for the first time on Friday 7/18/2014 and that will be my last time. Arrived to a band playing so loud you couldn’t hear people around you speak unless they shouted at you. Even at the very back of the bar, it was still a deafening volume. Between sets we spent our time by the bar conversing amongst ourselves and a few others in the vicinity. One of the bartenders refused to serve us and later found out she was the manager (maybe an owner?). During the set of the second band, we were asked to leave as we were sitting there enjoying the music. No details were given on why and had to ask multiple times for an explanation. The basic jest of it was the manager did not care for me and my friends and made up some customer complaints to give her enough of a reason to ask us to leave. I thought it was “classy” of her to not do anything about it at the moment but waited until it appeared we had stopped spending money. You can count on me sharing my dissatisfaction regarding the establishment, management and overall service to all that will listen or solicit my opinion. Based on previous feedback, I am not the only person who feels this way after a night of drinking here. There are plenty of other bars in Joplin that will be happy to take my money and entertain me and my friends. Bars in a small town change management/ownership very quickly and treating people so poorly is the quickest way to find a bar closed.
