My first ring was made, for about 25cents. Out of a store vending machine (yes the ones with toys and gumballs) came the very luxurious silver toned ring part, then it was adorned with superglue and some sort of bead that was the shape of a star. This is proof that money isn't the lowest common denominator when it comes to actual love. Not many, aside form us has set their eyes upon the first ring after all it is priceless to us and quite delicate. Our boys will inherit it and probably look at each other with that "Why did Mom and Dad keep this crap" look after we've passed.



However, my Husband always told me I needed a bigger ring, bigger center stone. I said nah for a VERY long time.



Open 2015, we somehow got on the idea of custom making a ring from ALL of the rings and diamonds and sapphires we've acquired over our marriage. To include my present wedding set, diamonds from my Grandparent's wedding rings of which I'd inherited a while before, sapphires from a set of earrings my In-laws had gotten me one Christmas, and sapphires my Husband had bought on a whim in Afghanistan. These items all represented love and adoration over time.



My husband created a rough drawing sketch from what stones we had. We took it to the local jeweler here hoping he could work some magic. He sent the sketch, the stone measurements, etc to a CAD company who planned it. Then came the molded ring, the stones set upon it, and voila an amalgamation of shiny things.



My new wedding ring is the one I'll wear til I croak. With this much love on one finger I'm not sure how to balance the other 9. (lol) So, it will be a story to share with friends and family, a reminder to our Boys of love, and to any stranger who asks we will tell the story and send them to this Jeweler. It's a great place I've bought jewelry as well as had things fixed there. Very customer friendly. Not to mention I do there winter snow removal.
