Established in 1966, Maui Community College is an integral part of the University of Hawaii system. It offers a wide range of courses, such as English, sociology, psychology, history, biology, chemistry, physical education and music. It offers distance learning education programs for the students. It additionally has a financial aid program that provides financial assistance to the physically disabled students. Maui Community College also provides various sport activities, including volleyball, hockey, soccer, hiking, wind surfing, swimming, kite flying and cheerleading. Its library center provides various periodicals, magazines, journals, reference books and Internet access. Its arts and culture department deals with the cultural activities of the students. Maui Community College is approved by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is located in Kahului, Hawaii.
