Provided by SuperpagesThis was a fabulous excursion! We went on the Kealakekua Bay and Captain Cook Monument tour. I was a little nervous at first (as I am afraid of the ocean!) and it took me an hour or so to get me snorkel nose about me, but our guide, Keean (sp.?) was amazing. He was very patient, encouraging and supportive, as well as informative about the history, ecology, and biology of the area. I see on reviews elsewhere that people were displeased with the organization of the shop, but it was even better than I expected. Everyone was very laid back (its Hawaii!), but safety definitely seemed to be a priority (in fact, our scheduled excursion was changed due to safety reasons) and we got in the water, kayaked and snorkeled for a good deal of time without ever feeling rushed in that we have a schedule to keep fashion. If youre expecting an itinerary and someone to hold your hand through the whole trip or an hour long lesson on how to sea kayak (it really is self-explanatory and Ive never done it until now!), go elsewhere. To me, it was more than satisfactory, and aside from backpacking Waimanu, it was the highlight of my trip to the island. In fact, the next time I visit the Big Island, I intend to embark on the manta night snorkeling trip with this company, and possibly try the trip we originally scheduled with the lava caves and cliff jump. I would highly recommend this outfit to other travelers! Reviewers should note that the company does not have control over weather, ocean conditions or the presence of wildlife!!! Duh.
