Dr. Sward knew he wanted to practice medicine when he witnessed his mother's illnesses at a very young age. His continued experiences within the field of family medicine is what drives him to continue to learn and grow as a doctor. His favorite part of his job is the uniqueness of each of his patients and the experiences they bring with them. He finds it to be a wonderful feeling knowing he is making a difference in someone's life every day. He has a special interest in sports medicine and weight management. Dr. Sward loves outdoor activities such as cycling, boating, golfing and taking his three dogs to the dog park. In addition, he is an active member of Make-A-Wish Michigan and participating in their annual WAM ride to help seriously ill children get wishes granted.My goal in family medicine is to help my patients live active, independent lives and make the healthiest choices they can when faced with illness or injury. The joy of family medicine is getting to know my patients over the years and helping guide them as their needs and issues change. That personal knowledge and rapport is what builds trusting relationships, and I think my patients always know I have their best interests in mind with every visit.
