I have been wondering why nobody has done anything with the Kalamazoo Inn Motel for years. That decrepit, dated motel building has not had any upgrades since maybe the 1970's, and the sign facing Westnedge only says "Pen", but it is supposed to say "Open". That sign has not been changed, nor have any of the buildings or rooms. I have seen some cars parked by the motel, and some people gathering inside one of the rooms. I wondered, "Are those people homeless squatters?" Then, just last year, I looked up the information for Kalamazoo Inn Motel, called the number, and lo and behold, an Asian woman answered the phone. I asked out of curiosity how much it cost to spend one night at Kalamazoo Inn Motel, and the answer was "Forty dollars."

Basically, this inn needs new owners, new staff, updated construction, and some amenities to be worth the price it currently charges to stay there.
