Madison originally chose to pursue a nursing career, as it gave her the opportunity to provide holistic and personalized care. While working as a nurse technician, she became interested in oncology because of the meaningful impact she was able to have on the patients and families. She was humbled by the experience and wanted to further be involved as a nurse practitioner, where she would be able to help meet patients at a vulnerable time in their life and enforce the patient and family-centered care that is crucial in oncology care. Madison is constantly working to be the best she can be for her patients, and she is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space within the healthcare system. It motivates her knowing that she is able to make a positive impact on her patients every day by meeting them where they are, helping them through a difficult journey, connecting them with available resources, and making them feel validated. In her spare time, Madison enjoys staying active – specifically running, cycling and boxing. She also loves spending time with her golden retriever puppy!As a nurse practitioner, it is my purpose to help my patients navigate the healthcare system. I do this by motivating, advocating and empowering each patient to achieve their individual goals related to their diagnosis and overall health. As patients work to achieve these goals and seek more control over their care, creating open conversation and transparency are my top priorities to develop trust in an evolving healthcare world. Despite the changes that have and will occur in healthcare, the principles of equity, compassion and advocacy will always be central to the proper care of my patients.
