Founded in 1965, National Head Start Association is a private not-for-profit membership organization serving the needs of Head Start children and their families. It provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. It also provides support for the entire Head Start community and represents nearly 1 million children, 200,000 staff and 2,600 Head Start programs in the United States. The association provides more than 15 awards and scholarships that are valued at thousands of dollars, which includes Teacher of the Year, Parent of the Year and Corporate Award. It has partnered with BCI Burke Company, Childcraft, abc, Specialty Companies, Colgate Palmolive, Delta Dental, Discount School Supply and Johnson & Johnson. In addition, National Head Start Association has also partnered with Kaplan Early Learning Company, Nike and PlayWorld Systems.
