Provided by YPmobileMy son & I were visiting the Kansas City area specifically to try some famous KC BBQ. We asked the internet to find the best in KC and Woodyard Bar-B- Que was on the list with great reviews. Well, I'm not sure about the kind of food and facility cleanliness these people are used to but I am here to tell you that we had a totally different experience!!!!
While the young man that to our order was very nice, this area was not cool and he even suggested that the other seating area on the other side of the outside eating section might be cooler. After walking through all seating areas we were really regretting our decision to not just run out the door. Not one table in the outside facility or the other inside area was cleaned, in fact there was still the leftover dirty serving dishes as well. By the wat, there was maybe 3 other customers there when we arrived.
We decide to suck it up and go back and sit in the small section where you order your food but the tables and chairs had that grimy, sticky feel to it. Our food came, which we were hoping was going to meet the standards of the reviews we read but we were quickly given a realty check. We had the rib plate and they were barely warm and totally tasteless, without being cooked in sauce we expected there to be a flavorful dry rub like the amazing ribs we have had at Rendezvous in Memphis.
To make it worse, the sauce bottles were sticky and with every bite we tried to take we battled swatting flies from landing on our food. We gave up, finished our beers and left. I am not a germ a phobe type individual but this facility should get a surprise visit from the health I spector. Our next day trip will be to Memphis and back to Rendezvous, a place that serves amazing food in a clean facility in spite of it being a back alley hole in the wall location.

Provided by YP.comI waited to give this place a review as I wanted to try many of different kinds of meats and then give an honest review. I have tried ham, chicken, salmon, and hamburger patties. The one that stuck out as having the best taste is the chicken. I found the pricing to be one of the best in KC metro area, but don't expect white linen table clothes on the outdoor picnic tables. The staff is usually very friendly and willing to talk to you about BBQ. Those of you that enjoy cooking will find this same location to provide many different varieties of wood that you can purchase to smoke your own meat. I give this location three stars BBQ was "Good" but I have found other places that have better taste. Price is one of the best in KC.
