Provided by YP.comNot terrible. Small combined cardio and weight room. I agree with the other review that if a decent gym opened in the area this place would be a ghost town. Half basketball court is nice if you can ever get on it. There are usually classes or some of the locals using the court. Nice pool but only 2 lanes to swim in and they are usually in use. Staff is excellent. Child care area is good.
Overall- 2 stars- Not a great place to work out but no better options in the area.
Equipment- 31/2 stars- Mostly in good shape and kept up.
Space- 1 star- Terrible layout could have utilized the space of the building much better. If there are more than 5 people lifting weights it can be cramped.
Employees- 5 stars- Always nice and smiling.

Provided by YP.comIts better then nothing I guess...If you live in KCK and want to work out on a regular basis without having to drive to missouri or johnson county then this YMCA is better then nothing. This YMCA has been open for years now and every year they want to increase my dues without offering anything new, same weights, machines, treadmills all packed into the same room. Theres no track for seniors, they have to walk up and down the lobby or around the miniture basketball court, and thats only if theres not another class or sports going on in there. The pool has only two lap lanes and thats only available if there's not a class going on in the middle of the lanes themselves, the kids side is very small. The child watch area isnt bad, but if you compare it to other YMCAs, its nothing. If you visit any other YMCA in the area,(except the downtown KCK YMCA), you'll see that they make the Providence Y look like a joke. The Parkville YMCA is the best, Bonner springs isnt bad but you have to share it with the High school kids, and drive out there. Everyday I see people walk in and have all the priveledges I have and they dont have to pay a cent, or at a discounted rate, which is fine, I understand. But dont charge me more just because I can afford it, charge me the same as everyone else. On a positive note the employees are great, They're nice, always smiling, and willing to help out, they do a good job of keeping it clean and doing the best with what they have. Right now its all Wyandotte county residence have, if 24 hour fitness, or another fitness place ever build a quality facility this Y will see a drastic reduction in members, in my opinion.
