C3 Capital was founded in 1994 and has sponsored nearly $70 million of investments with institutional backing. C3 is an approximately $100 million mezzanine fund with offices in Kansas City and Dallas that provides capital for businesses to finance later stage growth, strategic acquisitions, ownership transitions and recapitalizations. While many mezzanine providers require a sponsor in each investment, the company draws on its private equity experience to invest in transactions with or without a sponsor. It focuses on adding value to businesses through strategic and financial guidance and by sharing its network of relationships. The fund makes $2 million to $10 million investments in the form of subordinated debt or preferred equity in businesses with a history of profitability.
