A group of friends of mine and...

A group of friends of mine and I took our kids for a fun outing at Crown Center last week and we wanted to treat the kids to lunch. (total group of 18) We had THE SINGLE WORST experience there and what's even worse is when we tried to explain our dissatisfaction to the Manager on duty (Michael) he rolled his eyes, threw up his hands and told me to 'just leave'. His server, Kaitlin, was the laziest and most rude person in the food and beverage industry. After my friend who had put our name on the waitlist asked her about separate checks (before we got seated), Kaitlin told her 'I can't do that. I will just have to give the check to one of you moms and you can split it up'. Even though we thought that was rudely unaccommodating, we still decided to eat there since our kids were hungry and it seemed like a fun place. Big mistake. Kaitlin took FOREVER to get us drink refills, was lethargically walking around our table as if she would rather be walking through fire than be at work. At the end when we received our bill all on one check, I informed her that only one of us was paying cash and the rest of us had cards. She acted like it was the most difficult thing in the world to divy up the bill and when I got up to go talk to her manager, I simply asked 'I don't see what's so hard about splitting up the bill if I tell you what I ordered and everyone else does the same.' Kaitlin then said to me (in front of Michael, her manager), 'It ISN'T difficult but when you first got here I asked your friend if you wanted me to do that and SHE SAID NO, TO JUST PUT IT ALL ON ONE CHECK!' I was flabergasted! Are you serious?? She had just bold-faced lied to her manager and to us in an effort to conceal the fact that she's actually told us something much different. When my friend and I confronted her in front of the manager, Michael, she denied it again and again and her Manager actually questioned us (the paying customers!) in a tone that was very rude and totally uncalled for! These people have NO IDEA what it is to be in the restaurant business! Her manager told me he 'didn't appreciate us calling his employee a liar', however she CLEARLY IS and we would certainly not have anything to gain by making this up! We were just as eager to pay and get out of their way if they had just split the checks from the beginning. After he told me to get out and leave, I told him that he is the most ridiculous restaurant employee I've ever seen and has no business being there. I asked for his General Manager's card, which he did give me but then said, 'I don't care who you tell or what you say.' They single handedly ruined an entire day of fun for me, my friends, and our kids. Crayola should be outraged at their conduct towards us as paying customers and well-connected moms in our community.

I took my grand daughter to Crayola Cafe. Thought it would be cute and colorful. Well, it was, but the tables and chairs were dirty. The service was slow and there were only 4 other parties in the cafe besides us. The place mats were cute, but wrinkled, like there was no care in putting them out. The Food was extremely high priced for mac and cheese. ($8.95)and it was only warm, with some watery liquid at the bottom of the dish. Some of the items that were on the internet were not a choice on the menu when we got there. I would never go and eat there again.Dirty, high priced, terrible service and now I know why there are never very many people in this cafe.
