The Manual Career Technical Center is an educational institution that offers a variety of vocational courses. The center conducts classes in a range of subjects, such as cosmetology, construction, drafting, marketing, agribusiness, collision repair and culinary arts. Its academic curriculum also includes multimedia, fashion design, computer programming, and child, fabric and health care. The Manual Career Technical Center is governed by the Kansas City, Missouri School District, which was founded in 1867. The district serves more than 17,400 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. In addition, it governs over 40 elementary, middle and high schools, as well as nearly 10 early childhood and alternative education centers.
