Although the food is good, I will probably never again go to Margarita's North. Twice, when I have gone there to have lunch by myself, I have been left to sit there in the dining room waiting for someone to come and wait on me. The first time, after about 15 minutes I flagged down a waitress and asked her to get someone to come wait on me. Today, after another 15 minute wait, when 4 waitresses (one of whom turned out to be the manager) walked by my table and ignored me, I left. I went up to the bar and asked to speak to the manager, who was sitting at the bar. She didn't even get up off her seat and when I told her what the problem was, she replied with a very weak, "I'm sorry". Since this has happened twice, it will be quite some time (if ever) before I go back there....too bad - the food is good, but the service really sucks.

Today was Father's Day and we ...

Today was Father's Day and we took my husband to Margaritas on SW Blvd in Kansas City. They weren't very busy, and having visited there several times before, we thought "this is perfect"! However, this turned out to be a very unpleasant experience. There were 2 other large parties (5-6 persons) when we arrived and we were seated within 5 minutes. It took the waiter several minutes to take our drink order and bring out the chips and salsa. He forgot to bring out one of the drinks and it took almost 10 minutes before he came back to our table. Also, when we were given the chips, they were thrown down, spilling out of the basket onto the table. We waited for another 30 minutes for someone to take our food order (I had to ask when we would have our order taken). The other parties that were seated AFTER us received their drinks and food BEFORE us. After our order was taken, we then waited another 20-25 minutes to get our food. We didn't even get our drinks refilled. Remember, the restaurant wasn’t extremely busy so we were wondering what was going on. The waiters overall attitude was very poor. When we received our check, there was an 18% "service charge" added since we had 6 people at our table. Since we received such poor service, we asked to speak to the Manager about the "service charge" which is actually supposed to be the tip. We were met with a very rude Manager, who came to our table with an attitude about the service charge and the overall service. We advised that we had received poor service and her response was that this was the policy for over 20 years and she would take the service charge off "this time" but in the future we needed to know that when we came again we would be required to pay the fee. We couldn't believe the Manager's overall attitude. She came over to the table already upset that we had asked to speak with her about the service charge and the poor service. We felt that speaking to the Manager was an appropriate thing to do. I would also like to add that the only difference between our family, and the other 2 larger parties (5-6 people), was that we were minorities. So for our family, we won't be paying any additional service charges at Margarita's because this was our last time at this restaurant. We will take our money and spend it where it is appreciated. Thanks for allowing us to post our comments.

Fair At Best

The food is metiocre at best. Greasy, dripping tacos over $3.00 each. Don't buy tacos.

The rest of the menu is fair. Do not recommend to your friends. Very inconsistent service

and rudeness on a regular basis.

Not Bad, not the Best in KC

This place is probably just above average for Mexican restaurants in KC.
