Provided by YP.comIt was my sons 4th B-day and we usually go to Kona-Grill for sushi on as a tradition. We decided this year to give Nara a shot since it was close to our show at the midland. We had reservations at 5:45; when we arrived there was one other table, 2 hostesses, 2 bar tenders, 3-4 servers and a manager. We sat at our table for 15 minutes and watched 4 other tables arrive and get their drinks before our drink order was even taken. I was about to walk out when my girlfriend went and asked for service. At that time the manager came to apologies and gave us a bowl of peas that were un-shucked for appeasement.
The sushi was poor quality (I've had better sushi from Sunfresh). Our bill for three 6-8 piece platters of sushi and three soft drinks was $55 - I left feeling ripped off..
I make a lot of restaurant recommendations to visitors in the Downtown area and have unfortunately recommended Nara a couple times in the past without ever trying it... I do not recommend it...

Provided by YP.comMy 2 sisters and I just went there for one of our birthdays. We did't have a reservation but there were many empty tables. The hostess asked us if we could be done in an hour or if we wanted to wait for a table. We said we would try to be done. The waiter was instructed to stay close by our table and make sure he took our order timely. after just 45 minutes, the waiter brought over the check and and the host came with him to tell us our time was up. We asked if we could be moved to one of the many empty tables. we were told they were all reserved. They were very rude and nasty and made sure to embarrass us and make us leave our table even though there were many empty tables when we left. The explanation was that they were all reserved. Until tonight that was one of my favorite places. I will never eat there again because of how badly we were treated. When we tried to complain to the girl at the register, she put her hand in our faces and said "good night ladies"..... I am very sad and disappointed.

Provided by YP.comThe restaurant is in an old, stinking unfinished building. Everytime I go there the dining room smells of sewer fumes and so does the bathroom area downstairs.
The food is so-so and very over-priced. Kona Grill has better sushi.
The service is average and the dining areas are very cramped--the only authentic Japanese trait (overcrowding).
