How is KBI different from a Bed and Breakfast? • There is no breakfast provided. How is KBI like a hostel? • KBI is ideal for the solo traveler and priced very low with shared full bathrooms. Seven-minute time limit for bathroom use. Island style hot shower outside. How does KBI differ from a hostel? • All rooms are private. What do you mean by self-check inn? • There is no need to check in at front desk. Front and rear entrances and all rooms have keyless entry. You will be given code prior to arrival. Why is there no sign for KBI? • KBI respects the heritage of our Makai Ola Wellness Building. Look for their sign. We discourage walk in travelers as well. Is there a manager? • Yes, onsite managers are Heaven and Duke. They are there to assist but please respect that they do not work 24/7. Can we be noisy? • Yes, as long as you are far away from KBI. Whisper voices up front and soft voices in back. Is there TV? • You can rent a high definition flat screen TV from us for $10 per day to stream your Netflix, Hulu, etc. Volume low or we will rescind offer. What is provided in shared kitchen area? • Electric burners, pots/pans, plates/utensils, glasses/cups, coffee pot with island coffee, hot water with tea etc., juicer, microwave and large shared refrigerator. No oven. BBQ outside. What is your cleaning policy? • All rooms are cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival. There is no daily maid service. Laundromat nearby. We adhere to stringent sanitizing protocol for all areas. Do your part. Is there a designated smoking area? • Yes, there is a hut by ocean. No smoking or vaping in or around KBI, including lanai. Is a car needed? • No, KBI is centrally located in Kapaa, on bike path, and bus stop each direction are out front door. Easy 8 mile Uber or taxi ride from airport. Where do we park if we choose car? • There is limited parking out front. There is also limited parking in rear for low clearance vehicles. Drive under Sam’s Restaurant and turn left.
