Educational Service Unit 10 was established in 1965 by the Nebraska Legislature to provide supplemental services to school districts. It is a service-oriented, nonregulatory agency designed to achieve a balance of educational opportunities for students regardless of the population, financial differences and geographic limitations of school districts. It utilizes an advisory committee structure for the purpose of receiving feedback and developing recommendations for services that are provided to schools. The unit provides services to students in the counties of Blaine, Buffalo, Custer, Dawson, Garfield, Greeley, Hall, Howard, Loup and Sherman in Nebraska. It serves a more than 10,500-square-mile area and includes over 29,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12. Educational Service Unit 10 is located in Kearney, Neb.
