Provided by YP.comI bought four tires yesterday for my 18 y.o. car which has been kept in excellent condition. When the car came out, the first thing I noticed was that the balance marks did not line up with the valve stems. Then I noticed that the center caps on two of the original, painted cast aluminum wheels were not installed properly. I'm not too concerned about the balance marks as long as the wheels are in balance and the center caps were an easy fix. Then I noticed two one inch long scratches on one of the wheels along the lip. This rim is 18 years old and still in excellent condition with no corrosion and now all the paint is scratched off in two places.
The manager, Steve McGrath came out to look and started telling me a story about how he is always dealing with people complaining about this type of problem and how it couldn't have been caused by them. He tried to take me inside to show me how his equipment couldn't have possibly caused that damage. That's when I showed him the pictures I took of my rims time stamped ten minutes before they took the car in. He stammered and hemmed and hawed and kept me there for a half hour while he took his own pics and studied them.
He finally gave me a story about how he would try to find a place to fix my rims. It was more of a song and dance than a promise and he'd better find a place and fix my rims fast because if I have to do it, he'll pay for my time as well as the damage. He's good at stalling, wasting time and making accusations and promises but so far, he's terrible at customer service. Steve, HELLO! You are responsible for multiple mistakes and you tried to blame and swindle me. I'm not going away until you make things right.
I took more pics and was on my way. That's when I discovered that none of the Michelin tires they removed were in the trunk. I went right back and asked for them and at first they couldn't find them. I told them that I needed at least two of the tires back, the two with the most tread. They finally brought out the two with the least tread and gave me a story about how the tires were cracked and no longer serviceable. I walked around the corner to where they keep the used tires for sale and found my good tires and took them.
I had my choice of tire companies to deal with and I chose Tire Warehouse because I had a good experience there in the past. No more, I'll go elsewhere in the future. Three strikes and your out Tire Warehouse but we're not done yet. Today, I'm still waiting for Steve to call me with his proposed remedy for this problem. I only want the scratches repaired and painted so the rims don't start to corrode. Fix my rims or I'll see you in court Steve. You not only did a shoddy job but you damaged my rims and you stole my tires!
