I went in to Gigi's on 6/22/14 at her Kennesaw location. The place was cute and the lady working was nice. The cupcakes look very nice and I was craving for one! I asked the same question I ask all the cupcake stores... "Are they fresh". The lady told me "oh yes, our cupcakes are baked fresh daily"... I should have know better LOL. I order 3 cupcakes, the Banana Cream Pie, Red Velvet, and the Wedding Cake. I went home and and tried one and it was so dry I had to let somebody else try it to make sure it wasn't just me. The cupcake was indeed days old! So, I tried a piece of each cupcake that I purchased not even 15 minutes ago because I live right around the corner from the store and ALL of the cupcakes were dry and hard. The icing was a bit over powering. I was so disappointed because I had paid my money. I called today thinking I would be able to speak with a manager or something and the girl told me I could call back tomorrow. I asked her do they reuse their cupcakes and SHE said No, I said what about on Sundays? She said NO again. I then proceeded to tell her my problem and then she said ..."Well as far as I know, the cupcakes are baked fresh daily and we dont use any from the previous day". At first she sounded so sure they were baked daily then she was unsure. Never again. The best cupcakes I have had over and over again have come from Piece of Cake. I tried Small Cakes last week on the Dallas Hwy and they were really good too. As far a this Gigi lady, she should close shop. Seems like she is more concerned with opening up stores in different locations than the quality of the cupcakes.
