Provided by YP.comHas been a pleasure, you must see for yourself. I went to the optical just to look at frames, ended up the following day to get an exam. Dr. Matthew Chrycy gave a complete exam and explained everything; which I've been giving many referrals for. surpassed my expectations, once again thank you for everything

Provided by YP.comSears Optical Coral Gables is bad news. Zero star if I could.
. Dr. Matthew Chrycy knew that my husband and I were there for a regular annual exam, as covered by our Aetna insurance. He pulled up the Aetna screen and showed us that we were frozen for some reason.
I called Aetna on the Sears fax phone since I did not have cell service in there. Aetna said we had a zero dollar copay and gave us the authorization numbers. the receptionist pulled up the Aetna info on her screen and she agreed it was a zero dollar copay.
I gave Dr. Chrycy the authorization numbers and he conducted exams for both of us. At no time did he tell either my husband or I explicitly that he was doing anything outside a regular annual eye exam.
He said, well, my assistant is not here so I'll leave these authorization numbers for her to process.
That week she called and said we had a SIXTY dollar copay (30 each). We specifically went to Sears, trusting them, so we could use our benefits and have the zero copay. She said the doctor told us he was doing a special eye exam. She was not there and we told her he did not tell us that. She said we just didn't want to pay the 60. Not so. We were never advised nor did we agree to any extra services.
The assistant told my husband, "I can't get in the middle of this." What does that mean, we have to go in and have a discussion on our own valuable time again with the doctor on information he already had and that he chose to bill us for services not requested?
I don't care if it's 6, 60, 600, or 6,000. You don't charge any amount to patients who come specifically to you for their annual eye exam and the receptionist has your benefits up and it says zero copay, and your insurance has told you 3 times it's a zero copay.
The receptionist was kind and helpful. We will never go to Sears Optical again after this.
