The Washington Multi-Family Housing Association is Washington State chapter of the National Apartment Association. We are a collection of over 55 Property Management companies, over 350 Apartment Communities, representing over 74, 000 apartment homes, and over 100 suppliers working together to promote and enrich the multi-family housing industry in Washington state. One of our primary objectives is to actively monitor and influence the legislative process. WMFHA has a full time lobbyist representing the multifamily housing industry in Olympia. As an affiliate of the National Apartment Association ( NAA ), and through a joint legislative alliance with the National Multi Housing Council ( NMHC ) we are able to speak for you in both regulatory and legislative bodies at the federal and state government levels. We make sure you stay informed of regulatory requirements that affect you, your business and your professional licensing or educational requirements as well as taxation, environmental issues, and building codes. In addition, WMFHA has a Political Action Committee ( PAC ), which raises money and works to help get elected those public officials who will work with us on multi family housing issues to affect favorable change in the lawmaking process. As stated in our mission statement, our goal is to promote professionalism through education. As an affiliate of the NAA, we are privileged to offer nationally recognized professional designation programs. These programs are widely respected for their rigorous and comprehensive approach to career development in the multifamily housing industry. With some study and hard work, you and/or employees can earn professional credentials in multi-site property supervision ( CAPS ), apartment management ( CAM ), leasing ( NALP ), maintenance ( CAMT ). WMFHA offers numerous opportunities for you to network, exchange ideas, and form relationships with other professionals in the multi family housing industry. These offerings include four informative membership meetings per year and three national conferences ; the Capitol Conference, the Education Conference and Exposition, and the Assembly of Delegates meetings. Each affords you an opportunity to strengthen your connections and make a contribution to your industry by serving on committees and participating in the governmental process. We invite you to be a part of this tremendous group of industry professionals, to contribute your talents and knowledge and really make a difference!
