Very disappointed in customer ...

Very disappointed in customer service. Tried to return Christmas present bought for my daughter. Shop worker said they "prefer" to exchange. I pointed out that there is not a sign nor does the receipt indicate the policy for no refunds. Worker refused to refund $89.23. I was told to call the next day. Called repeatedly (during posted business hours) and left several messages. No response at all. Now I am stuck with an $89 purse and purchased my daughter a purse she did like at addtional cost. I consider this poor business practice and customer service.
