Provided by YP.comThe grounds leading up to this museum are quite impressive, but that is just a beginning. The museum itself is world-class. Dedicated to the preservation of the western heritage, you will find western art in many mediums; oils, watercolors, etchings, carvings, bronze and more. They also have an extensive research center.
Youngsters under 12 will enjoy the "Journey's West" pavilion, sponsored by Ford Motor Co. They will be caught up into the theme of "wagons west" and read tablets of a young person headed out on a wagon train. They can climb into a real chuck wagon, prowl around a teepee, and explore a log cabin. They'll peer into trucks and suitcases, check out maps and period western attire and hats.
Allow at least one hour to view this museum. Special exhibitions change throughout the year.
Small gift shop on site.
