Avanlee is a wonderful place to bring a child into the world. The midwife there, Jennifer Bennett, is warm, and very friendly. From the moment I began my pre natal care there, I felt as if I was in a very safe environment. Unlike most OBGYN offices, I never felt pressured into anything I didn't feel comfortable with. I was always given as much information as I felt I needed to make decisions concerning me or baby. When it came time for delivery, my experience was fantastic. I loved that they were there to do their jobs, but at the same time, wanted it to be an intimate and special time between me and my husband as well. I would highly suggest and encourage any woman looking to have a special/natural birth to go here!

Jennifer Bennett is THE BEST midwife. It has been over a year since I gave birth to my baby girl at Avanlee. The memories still fill me with warm fuzzies as I sit here and reminisce.



At the time of my pregnancy, Jennifer had two student midwives, Amissa & Jacquetta. I felt very comfortable with these three ladies, as soon as I met them. It was as if I had known them all my life. You can tell that these women not only enjoy each other but more importantly their role as a midwife.



I always looked forward to seeing the ladies each visit for my pre/post natal exams. Jennifer answered any and all of my questions to the best of her knowledge. She guides you to make informed decisions when it comes to which pre-natal tests to undergo. I love that Jennifer lets me decide which tests I am comfortable with and she does not judge me if I do choose to opt out of anything. All fees were up front. There were a few necessary tests that were not included in the flat rate, but we were informed of it and knew well ahead of time that it would be extra. I never once felt Jennifer was only after my money. There were times when we didn't have the money for our payments and Jennifer never once made me or my boyfriend feel guilty for not paying that week.



I knew from the beginning that I wanted a waterbirth and that I wanted my boyfriend by my side, and that was how we delivered our daughter. In the jacuzzi with my boyfriend supporting me every step of the way. I was able to enjoy my pregnancy/labor/birth of my daughter with three beautiful, kind, gentle, supportive women. I could not have asked for a better birthing experience. I have and will continue to recommend Jennifer Bennett to all my friends and family.

From the first time I called Avanlee to set up a consultation, I was greeted with warmth and understanding. I had given birth to my first son with a midwife in Boulder, CO and was nervous about finding quality midwifery care anywhere north of Austin. But I met Jennifer and was immediately struck by her laid-back, straight-forward manner. She exuded respect for me and for my birth choices. Highly trained and highly knowledgeable in the areas of woman wellness, maternity, prenatal, postnatal, labor and delivery care, she still believed I was the ultimate expert on me. She respected me enough to let me research and choose which options worked for my body, my family and my baby. I was able to opt-out of things I was uncomfortable with or felt was unnecessary without a prolonged argument or guilt. Jennifer was upfront about fees and coverage, but also understanding and flexible on payments and schedules. I could tell that a safe, beautiful experience that I felt good about and empowered me was the first priority to her. She obviously believes strongly in the ability of women to not only give birth in their way, but also to make informed and conscientious decisions regarding their bodies and their babies. Her sense of humor and approachable personality add a close-knit-friends atmosphere to the family environment at Avanlee. I had such an amazing experience with my 2nd child, that I returned to Jennifer for my 3rd. I would and have recommended Jennifer numerous times to friends and acquaintences who are looking for a less "hospital-like" experience. I feel confident that if you are looking for a natural birth experience in a peaceful, warm environment, free of cold unknown people, Avanlee is the place for you. You will be respected, encouraged, and empowered as a woman, and your birth experience will be precious and bold. The only trouble you'll have is explaining to your mother-in-law why you're not crazy for wanting to have this beautiful experience.
