I don't normally take time to write reviews, but I want to warn other homeowners not to use Remax Platinum as your property manager. We should have checked BBB before using them and learned our lesson the hard way. We used them for a miserable 3 years (we didn't feel comfortable switching companies since we had the same renter for 3 years). When our renters moved out and we started the process of changing management companies, the miserable experience became a nightmare. Not only are they unorganized and difficult to get a hold of, but they also sweetly promise to do things but don't follow through (they have creative excuses). And they fought us the whole way through our transition, even though they assured us they weren't trying to punish us for changing companies (in fact, they said many times that they bent over backwards for us, when in fact we could hardly get them to take care of their responsibilities). We lost a good deal of money because of them, and they've basically stollen from us, as we've never seen the deposit check they promised to send us for damage done to our home and the non-refundable pet deposit they assured us was ours no matter what. They said they sent it certified mail, but they won't provide us the tracking number and they won't respond to us anymore. We finally contacted the BBB... and found they aren't even BBB certified since they have an "F" rating. The BBB tried to contact them several times, but never received a response. Remax also failed to get us our 1099-MISC tax info this year. They also said they sent that. When I said I never received it and needed them to send me another copy or at least email me a copy, they said they don't keep tax records like that after they send them out. I called the IRS and they said that Remax has a legal responsibility to do whatever it takes to be sure we receive that info and that they should definitely keep records and at least have access to them through their accountant. Then Remax proceeded to cut off our access to all of our management records with them so that I couldn't even use that to piece together our taxes. They won't respond to any of my requests to have access to records, again. I could go on and on, as these are just a few examples of what it's been like to work with them... but I think I've made my point. I felt it my responsibility to warn others so they don t have to go through an experience like ours.
