The following is a true account regarding
Terrace Heights Apartments
My husband and I moved to Killeen for work in June of 2014. We needed a place fast and reasonable. We didn’t read the reviews or take time to investigate Terrace Heights Apartments. We were shown the model apartment; it hardly resembled what we actually rented. We signed the Standard Texas Lease agreement. Its iron clad.
Upon moving in we reported the air-conditioning was out and there were plumbing issues. After weeks of complaining and several certified letters to management, the air-conditioning and plumbing were NEVER fixed. 3 months into our lease a pipe broke, the carpet flooded and mold quickly took over our bed room wall. It was over a week before maintenance sealed the leak; there was never any cleanup of the mold. We had to move out of the bed room.
Going without air-conditioning and having a bathroom with non-functioning fixtures for the summer was a horrible experience. We have other complaints such as the roach infestation, the pool being closed most of the summer and dear Megan with her condescending attitude. There are police in the parking lot almost daily, there are drug thugs and crack whores out and about. The complex is not safe for anyone to be out in. There have been many break-ins. The complex is a dump. Our building leans severely towards the east. The Fort Hood shooter lived in the 400 building. There has recently been a drive by shooting and a child got caught in the cross fire.
After reading the reviews my wife and I found we were lucky our roof didn’t leak.
Bottom line, the units are not maintained, management is rude and openly hostile, you and your property will never be safe and the living conditions are miserable.
We were stuck here for six months. Read all the reviews. Good luck on apartment hunting.

Provided by YPmobileI lived here and say..please don't do it..unless you sell or use drugs and like that kind of environment that does not provide working air condition..its cheap rent so you get what you pay for. Its not a area for women or families..the only plus side its across the street from 7-11
