Cox services checked my septic system after a 4” rain fell in 24 hours. They stated after pumping out the tank that a pump was needed to prevent backflow of water from the drain field to the tank. Of course the water flowed back into the tank!! The yard was saturated and the tank was empty. Water flows from high pressure to low pressure (and downhill). Plus this obviously showed the field lines were working. Needless to say, I did not waste money on a pump! The creditable service group I called next said they never evaluate a system after heavy rain. It does not provide accurate performance data.

Our plumber told us that we had a major septic tank problem. Cox came out within a few hours and had it fixed in minutes at minimal cost.
