The Kings Mountain Police Department is a law enforcement agency that employs a staff of more than 40 full- and part-time sworn and nonsworn officers, civilians and community volunteers. It maintains a patrol squad and criminal investigations and records divisions. The police department also supports various specialized units, including traffic enforcement, community-oriented policing and lake patrol.
